ARTIST FOCUS: VIRGIL ABLOH
There are some blessed souls that walk this planet that seem to have the natural born gift to excel in any field to which they turn their hand. Virgil Abloh is one of those who undoubtedly falls into this category.
A graduate in Civil Engineering, it was through architecture early on, that his creative juices were stirred, specifically in design and he soon found himself working as an intern at Fendi alongside none other than Kanye West.
This led to West making Virgil the creative director of his agency Donda. Not long after, the entrepreneurial spirit within him rose the the fore, with the creation of his own fashion house, Off-White which specialised in high end street-wear.

Add to the mix his artistic efforts, thanks to his collaborations with old time friend and celebrated artist Takashi Murakami, it should come as no surprise he is also equally adept behind a set of CDJ’s taking time to mix up classic bangers with some underground sounds for the ultimate party sets, ideal for fashionistas and cool cats on The Island of The Gods.

The week is dedicated to design and in keeping with Potato Head’s continued efforts to spearhead responsible industries at a time when it is so crucial to the future of our planet, how we can incorporate design into a circular economy.
