SECRET BALI BEATMASTERS FEATURING SCOTTY CAL
DJ SCOTTY CAL originates from Sydney in Australia and was synonymous with several of the most sought after and loved parties in the city. But thankfully for us, Scotty decided to make the leap and jump over to Bali and has been an ever-present on all the islands major venues and parties ever since. Despite being renowned as one of the islands best DJ’s and also one of the teams behind the awesome Escape parties it was Scotty’s efforts in the studio that really got our attention.
Truth be known when Scotty sent us a track to listen to a few weeks ago it was the inspiration for us to create the ‘Secret Bali Beatmasters’ feature, as we were so blown away by his work… so thank you, Scotty!

WHEN WAS IT PRODUCED?
I originally started this tune in the height of the Australian summer in Mullumbimby in a studio in the Byron Hinterlands, from then the track evolved as I tested it out whilst on tour around Australia eventually finalizing it from my home studio in Bali at the start of April.
WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION FOR THE TRACK?
Since I first started DJ’ing house music and the way it makes you feel is what has been the driving force for me to begin producing my own music. As my debut track as a solo artist, the inspiration for Mothership was to draw on the elements of a house track including deep rolling bassline and sexy vocals to create a track that I could share that would give others this same feeling.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DID YOU USE?
My Digital Audio Aorkstation of choice is Ableton and I mainly use Native instruments plugins, however, there is a nice new synthesizer, The pioneers se-02 on the way thanks to a pretty awesome birthday present.
WHERE CAN PEOPLE WHO ENJOY YOUR MUSIC FIND MORE?
I am regularly updating my mix’s on soundcloud from recent house releases on traxsource to recorded sundown mix sessions and live deep house & melodic techno DJ sets from around Australia & Bali.
